FADER premiere: And So I Watch You From Afar "Wasps"

This spring, Belfast four-piece And So I Watch You From Afar will release their fourth full-length, Heirs. Album cut "Wasps," premiering below, is mostly instrumental, aside from a reverb-y vocal passage that sounds like it was recorded a cavernous space with lots of fog and really good acoustics. Unlike some other post-rock songs, which can feel sonically gratuitous, "Wasps" benefits from its chiseled vision. "'Wasps' began as a six minute track," the band told FADER over email. "We then sliced and sanded it down to two-and-a-half minutes of the purest form of our initial idea. 'Wasping' became our word for ripping songs to pieces and throwing away all the bits that weren't needed. 'Thats's good but it needs to be wasped,' or, 'Shit, we really wasped that.'" Heirs drops May 4th via Sargent House.
